Carnival
Another journal spread...
I started with ink blobs again, red, purple, and yellow.
It's kind of fun to randomly drip the ink and
then wait for something to come to mind as you gaze at the splotches.
I think it was the intense color with the slight suggestion of
a face that made me think "carnival".
After it was finished, I thought this is kind of
what a migraine headache looks (feels) like to me also.
I used to get bad, bad headaches, but fortunately
I get far fewer and less intense ones now :)
So it's a party or a headache, or maybe both!

Eeeee, I LOVE this! And it's perfect for Carnival! That intense color, really brings to mind the loud intense music and colorful people all around.....When we lived in St. Croix, everyone that was local, even most of the police celebrated carnival in St. Thomas...luckily since most of the people were gone, the crime didn't seem affected ;)

I absolutely love this! It definitely has the carnival feel-was in Venice last year and your art just brought me back there! Lovely:) Thanks!

This is fantastic! I can't believe you didn't set out to create this amazing face - how wonderful that the paint led you to it!! The colours so vibrant and although I've never been to a carnival, (on my wish list for Rio after seeing the cartoon recently!) I imagine it would be full of these wonderful colours. I can also see how you get the association with a headache too though (maybe its the day after carnival!!)
ReplyDeleteIt is very good work ... happy about the colors, but ... the girl has no bitter tears running down his cheek. Saludos, I like it.

ReplyDeleteFrom drips you get this?? Wow. I get the loud music, I also get the migraine! That must be one great sketch book ♥ Rosie
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty spread! I see a little yellow tear on her cheek so to me it says something more like bottled up emotions that are exploding on the inside. Cool how we all see something different, isn't it?
