Let Them Drink Tea
I have to admit I was stumped by my own challenge.
Even though I'm a coffee drinker,
when I found an image of a posh lady
pouring tea I knew I had to enter a digital piece.
I gave her some Marie hair
and fancied her up with color.
and fancied her up with color.
I think she'd better sit down
before she has an accident with that tray. . .

Well, she really looks most irresponsible there. Holding a loaded tea tray with one hand - what on earth is she thinking of?
ReplyDeleteShe is great Maggie. Perhaps it's the big hair that is sending her off balance with that tray.Great fun piece.
I love the pink hues that peek throughout the piece. And yes, she needs to be careful ;)
ReplyDeleteMaggie I absolutely love her - her hair is like candyfloss and she just looks so delightfully eccentric! Great work :)
ReplyDeleteI love her cotton candy hair!
ReplyDeleteI LOLOL-ed when you thought she better sit down!
You are too funny, Maggie :D
OOh...just read Angie's comment...I assume candy floss is the elegant name for cotton candy...leave it to those Brits :)
xoxox
Thank you all! I think she is a bit of a flibberty-gibbet ~ I just realized she's not even looking at the tea she is pouring!
ReplyDeleteFunny, that word just popped into my head. I'm sure the last time I heard it was from my mom umpteen years ago. So, not sure I even knew what it meant, I had to look it up.
The origin of the term is rather gruesome, but one of the meanings is: 'A flighty person; someone regarded as silly, irresponsible, or scatterbrained, especially someone who chatters or gossips'. Ya, I think it fits...
I love the word candyfloss, and I guess you're right Lisa, it is the British equivalent of cotton candy. Yum, either way I love it!
Love, love, LOVE it- the perfect pose and expression for this theme! I also really like the colors you used- fabulous!
ReplyDeleteGreat piece! Her Marie Antoinette hair does indeed look like cotton candy! The pink is a wonderful enhancement!
ReplyDeleteGreat picture for the challenge. I love that you added the story of your granddad, it added to the view, made me take a different look at the photo.. very nice.
