Daylight Savings Time Begins

Altogether Not a Bad Day...
...to lose an hour.

We've been spoiled by the warm sunny days of the past week
and tricked into thinking winter is over.
I usually moan about the hour that disappears
when we turn the clocks ahead, because I like to have
more hours in the day, not less.

Today it's dreary, spitting rain, dark and damp.
Who would even notice if the light lasted an hour longer this evening?
Goodbye, extra hour, and good riddance!
Tomorrow's bound to be brighter!

*********

"Mirth is like a flash of lightning, that breaks through
a gloom of clouds, and glitters for a moment;
Cheerfulness keeps up a kind of daylight in the mind,
and fills it with a steady and perpetual serenity."

  1. Well you definitely have a point, but an extra hour on a gloomy day could be put to use snuggling, too!

  2. We have been sooo lucky here too. The weather has been awesome! It rained today but not for long.
    I'm not used to the lost hour yet. Always have a hard time adjusting.....but do love the extra daylight in the evening.
