Inspiration Avenue Weekly Challenge
At the Movies

I have to confess, I am not a big movie-goer. I don't anxiously await the opening of the latest cinematic extravaganza like many people do.

So when I heard the theme was "At the Movies" this week, I thought "Yikes, when was the last time I was at the movies?" and I came up blank! But I started thinking about the old glamorous days of Hollywood and the iconic stars that remain in people's minds even today.

This mixed media piece is composed of photos of Katharine Hepburn and a shot of the famous Hollywood sign, plus acrylic paint, glitter, and tissue paper on canvas.  The quote is by Ms. Hepburn. (The glitter shows up more in real life. Another photography problem. HA, I'm working on it!)

Visit Inspiration Avenue on Sunday afternoon (Jan. 3) to view the movie-inspired entries. And come back Monday to find the theme for the coming week! Anyone can enter as long as you have a blog to post your entry to.
You just might get hooked!

  3. Maggie, I was thinking about Katherine too! But painting her seemed too daunting...I love what you've created! She has so many great quotes...I was going to use this one:
"If you always do what interests you, at least one person is pleased"

  8. She's so cool though I think I would have felt intimidated if I ever met her! I like the sentiments of this quote though. A good motto methinks.
