Magical Journals

Kim’s Book . . .
. . . it’s  RED. . . and  PINK . . . and  ORANGE!

These colors were right in my repertoire. It was easy and fun to stick to the palette.
So why am I so late in finishing? I don't know. But I wish I had been able to
get this in the mail to Priti Lisa before June began. I'm so sorry, Lisa.
It's in the mail now (really!) and should be at your door today (Wednesday).

I think of Kim as the Queen of Pink,
although I know she likes all colors as I do (especially red).

One of my favorite quotes is about creativity:
“You can't use up creativity. The more you use the more you have.”
~ Maya Angelou

I was inspired by one of those cello windows in a business envelope
to create a doorway for the little girl.
I used one of my Gelli plate prints for the frame and scrapbook paper on the other side.
Her page is a bit busy, I guess she had lots to say :)

Almost forgot to post the tag!

On the back, a poem by Robert Graves.
Too long to fit on the tag, so I chose the second half..l

Here is the entire poem ~

I'd Love to Be a Fairy's Child

Children born of fairy stock
Never need for shirt or frock,
Never want for food or fire,
Always get their heart’s desire:
Jingle pockets full of gold,
Marry when they’re seven years old.
Every fairy child may keep
Two strong ponies and ten sheep;
All have houses, each his own,
Built of brick or granite stone;
They live on cherries, they run wild—
I’d love to be a Fairy’s child.

~ Robert Graves

Off to work in Tammy's Black, White, and Tan journal.

Before I received the book in the mail I was thinking it might
feel a bit limiting to work basically without color.
But now I see just the opposite is true ~ I'm finding SO many
wonderful elements to use in that color scheme,
it's exciting to concentrate on the composition and textures
on the pages, and it's perfect for vintage photos and ephemera!

  2. How fun! It's so Kim! She is going to love the fun little doll in the window and the kittens with the crowns are too cute. Attitude is everything. Your pages have attitude. I love your fairy with her sweet bow lips and orange curly hair. It's all very fun just like our Kim.
I am so glad you have my book now. Eeek! I know whatever you do will be awesome! I admire your creativity and talent. It is so great to have a little piece of each of you in my art journal. I cannot wait to have it back in my hands so I can look and feel and ooh and aah over it. =) Have fun!

  3. RED,ORANGE, PINK and Tootsie POPS!!! Maggie, thank you for these magic pages! I love the quote you added and I can see that the little "RED" circle was made from a tag, and you know I love tags! The DOLL and her attitude is exploding all over the page. I love that you created the door for her. One with attitude must not be locked in!! (I adore windows and doors). The red head fairy lady is the BOMB..I love her and the words she carries with her! Of course, you know me well and my passion for PINK, the Queen of Pink, just fits my head... now if only I could get into my skinny pink jeans and look that great !!!! All in all there is so much to LOVE here, Olive, I would say you have definitely been eating your SPINACH!! (Crazy for that Sailor Man!)

All the books and pages are so fabulous this journey and each so rich with colors and color themes..sprinkling Love and Fairy dust to "Priti"

    XOXOXOXO
    Kim

  8. Oh Maggie these pages are amazing - so full of vibrant colour, creativity and joy - I love them! And I can see from her comments that Kim definitely loves these pages and tag you've created for her. Such beautiful inspiring, happy pages that are perfectly suited to Kim. Maggie, I've fallen in love with all your art - I want my home to have more 'Maggie' art to join the beautiful angel painting I won from you at the auction and that looks down at me every day and the treasured reading girl under the tree pages in my journal.

And that Maya Angelou quote is excellent & so true.
