The families had lived there for generations and mostly all knew each other. I was so surprised on our first Halloween, when we were invited in at house after house and made to feel like family. It took us twice as long to go up and down the street! When we moved to a new neighborhood, things returned to normal. It's been almost 10 years and I still miss those neighbors!Maggiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04636170871680671006noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8736276539564789590.post-60746461234053446462009-10-11T10:54:11.198-04:002009-10-11T10:54:11.198-04:00Those pictures are great! Of course we went! It probably took us over an hour to do the whole block, and my mom never came looking for us. and I was a clown with a red curly wig nearly every year - my mom's favorite costume to put me in. Not very feminine, but I got used to it.Maybeadshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06692415064891397714noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8736276539564789590.post-70176416800129378652009-10-10T09:43:01.471-04:002009-10-10T09:43:01.471-04:00Those poor moms! She managed that one, but drew the line the year I wanted to be a blue whale! I was a butterfly that year instead.TheFrogBaghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06829641134331952750noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8736276539564789590.post-24757355428290090452009-10-09T22:15:05.803-04:002009-10-09T22:15:05.803-04:00Tami, lol! She'd end her trek at the Chicken on the Way where they'd give her a large box of fresh cut french fries and by large I mean family sized, then she'd head to the corner gas station where she'd be given a large chocolate bar and bottle of Pepsi. not only would she have a pillow case full of candy but a dinner of sorts as well.

As for pictures, we have lots of my sister and me growing up and one that I still to this day have no clue about what it is that I've been dressed as. It looks like it might be a duck but no one is sure. It was my vary first costume and the mask is one of those plastic ones with the elastic string and the tiny little eye holes.TMCPhotohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00507659700870917548noreply@blogger.com
