29 Faces is back for 2016!

It's been quite a while since I've participated in 29 Faces.

But it's a new year, it's February (goodbye January, I won't miss you),

and I'm going to make an effort to do this everyday.

I know it's Feb. 2nd already and only my first post.

But my painting has two faces, Hansel and Gretel

beholding the cottage of the wicked witch.

February 2:

Hansel and Gretel

By this time, the pair have had such astonishingly bad things happen to them that

they are a bit apprehensive of this yummy sugar-encrusted cottage.

I painted this for Joynal, a fabulous class taught by Jane Davenport.

I'm posting one more face for

February 1:

Autumn Fairy

This is the cover of my Joynal journal.

Have a happy February! I hope Spring is right around the corner

for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere.

Everyone else, enjoy a lovely Autumn!

  1. Your autumn fairy is so adorable!

I was afraid of that fairy tale of Hansel and Gretel when I was a child. The witch was so mean! Your Hansel and Gretel look already a bit mesmerized....!

  2. Wow! Your art is fabulous. Love the depth of each face.

  3. Great drawings! I like their face and especially eyes. Wonderful!

  4. Beautiful piece! I do admire your writing on your piece!

  5. Hansel and Gretel...I love the piece... it looks almost haunting as what the viewer does not see (but knows is there due to the caption) is this sweet temptation in front of them...it reminds me of a "moth to flame" kind of feel. Beautiful.

  6. These are both great pieces. The Hansel and Gretel makes one want to see more of their story.

  7. Thank you, everyone, for your kind comments!!

  8. You are amazing!! I can't wait to see what you come up with. I adore your faces and you!! xo

  9. Your autumn fairy is very sweet and I love the expressions of Hansel and Gretel. You captured the mood perfectly!

  10. wonderful fairy tale piece, i love the background details.

and the autumn fairy has won my heart.

I always love to hear what you have to say! Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment!
